Seamless Roof System On Glennville Church

This project, covering approximately 4,300 square feet, including wall interfaces, involves a detailed and thorough approach to both roof plywood assessment and the application of a 15-year seamless high solids silicone roof system.

The work begins with a comprehensive inspection of the existing plywood on the roof to identify any areas that are rotten, damaged, or compromised. All deteriorated plywood is then removed to ensure a clean and stable surface. We replace the removed sections with new 3/4" exterior-grade plywood, carefully securing it to the roof structure. Additionally, any loose or improperly secured plywood sheets are resecured using appropriate fasteners to prevent future movement or separation. A final quality inspection is conducted to confirm the integrity and stability of the newly installed plywood.

Following the plywood assessment, the technical scope of work focuses on applying an advanced long-term protective coating. This process begins with preparatory surface cleaning, including debris removal and the application of a specialized rinsible primer. A high-pressure wash at 4,000 PSI is then administered to remove non-adherent materials, followed by the excision of any delaminated tar patches to restore structural integrity.

For areas showing fabric wear, Kevlar fabric reinforcements are applied to enhance tensile strength. A monolithic primer layer is then dispensed at a rate of 1 gallon per 400 square feet to ensure optimal adhesion for subsequent coatings. We also focus on sealing and waterproofing critical areas, applying Fiber Seal Base around HVAC units and other penetrations, and hermetically sealing all vertical and horizontal seams.

The project continues with the application of a Fiber Seal Base layer across the entire roof surface, followed by a final coating of high-solids silicone at a calculated rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet. To conclude, we conduct a comprehensive post-application inspection to ensure all quality standards are met, and the site is meticulously cleaned, leaving the area in its original pristine condition.
